Many customer’s ask why we only sell double prong hooks with the Hook Line & Threader bait rigging system. The answer is this: The double prong hooks balance the bait fish out allowing it to swim more naturally.
While you can use a single or treble hook, we recommend the double prong hooks for that reason. A problem you may run into with the single hook or treble hook is what we call the “rudder effect” in which the fish will swim in unnatural directions or patterns. Another problem you may run into with the treble hooks is that the shank of the hook may be to large to set back into the rear of the bait fish causing a tear. If neither of these issues concern you that is fine too, you can use any style hook you desire!
